Alan worked in the building trade for two years after leaving school before starting college in 1981 where he studied Art and Design. Since then, as well as painting and decorating he has worked on layout design, illustration and shop front displays for companies such as Marks and Spencer, Next, Tigerprint, Radio Times, Which magazines, the Lancet, Harvey Nichols. Alan has continued to work for himself, painting and decorating as well as with Faux Works among others. He has also worked extensively for James Richardson design consultancy producing planning and construction drawings for a wide variety of domestic and industrial projects.
Based near Sudbury in Suffolk, with forty years of experience Hut and Home started in 2017 and have since carried out hundreds of projects in Assington, Benfleet, Boxted, Chelmsford, Clare, Colchester, Frinton on sea, Higham, Ipswich, Kelvedon, Leavenheath, Mersea, Nayland, Polstead, Rayleigh, Southwold, Stoke-by-Nayland, Walton-on-the-Naze, Wanstead, and Wivenhoe .
